About the Author

A fourth generation professional photographer, Mike Marvins has traveled Big Bend witha backpack, by car and on horseback for over twenty years. Limited edition portfolios of his Big Bend photography have been acquired by major museums in Texas, including The Museum of Fine Arts, Houston; the Amon Carter Museum in Fort Worth, and the Harry Ransom Center at the University of Texas in Austin. An ardent supporter of the Park, Marvins is donating his royalties to the Friends of Big Bend, a group that raises funds for improvement within the national park.

All Of Mike Marvins’ royalties are being contributed to Friends of Big Bend National Park, Compadres del Rancho Grande and non-profit groups that support Big Bend National Park and Big Bend State Park.
